After John Lennon and Paul McCartney, do you know who has the most #1 hits in the US? Barry Gibb. Yeah, Barry Gibb. And after listening non-stop for the past week to the smooth, silky sounds of Barry's falsetto and his harmonizing younger brothers, it makes so much sense.
Sit back and enjoy a few disco hits from the Brothers Gibb:
Stayin' Alive. Defined an era. What's with the dilapidated buildings and subway car? No one knows but check out Barry's high waisted white pants, silver Members Only jacket and thick mane of sexy, feathered hair.
Your Should Be Dancing. How much white satin can grown men wear? Watch and find out. This classic, from the height of their popularity during the Disco Era, also features Andy. Added bonus: Robin's strange and somewhat frightening dance moves.
Grease. Live performance from 1997. Barry sings without a falsetto! And Olivia Newton-John rocks out in the audience.

Agua Gnome

Picture of gnome on the side of a delivery truck. Oaxaca, Mexico, 2003. Do I want water delivered to me in a cup by a gnome pushing a cart? Hmm... not sure. Love the crude illustration though. What the hell, sign me up for a month's worth of deliveries by the Agua Gnome.

Give Her a Ring Already
Here's Wanda Jackson doing a live version of "I Gotta Know" in 1958. I think she's performing on Tex Ritter's Ranch Party, the same show that the Collins Kids were regulars on. As a bonus, this version has got a guitar solo by the cool Joe Maphis.

Cactus in Oaxaca

More photo blogging. This photo is the start of a series of pics we'll be posting from a trip we took to Oaxaca a few years back. This one is from the Santo Domingo Botanical Garden, taken with our toy Lomo camera.

Don't Mess with Hank
Hank Snow strikes me as a kindly old grandfather type of guy tooling along in his Winnebago, the back of which is completely covered in state travel stickers. In this tune, "I've Been Everywhere," he claims to "have been everywhere." He's really adamant about it, so do yourself a favor and don't argue with him, okay?
