New Product: Mexicana Airlines Notebook

Take a trip back to old Mexico during the early days of commercial air travel with the help of the evocative cover of this handy-sized notebook that features artwork from a vintage Mexicana Airlines travel poster. Small enough to keep in your bag, you'll always be ready should a note taking moment present itself. We'll have a couple more cool notebooks from this era on the site soon, so check back over the next week.

Waters of March

Hey there readers, Josh here. I'm the other half of the All-Pop juggernaut. This week is the first installment of our weekly Friday music video thing where I will be linking to our latest youtube finds. I plan on showing all sorts of cool, out of the way stuff. You'll never know what you're going to see, except that you can be sure that everything's gonna have that wacky, kitschy, turbocool All-Pop.com aesthetic that we know and love. If you like our merchandise, then check out these vids!

Our first offering is serious and highbrow. We found two spectacular versions of "The Waters of March" by Antonio Carlos "Tom" Jobim. Damn, we love this song.

The first version above sung by Elis Regina strikes me as being as close to perfect as can be. Even without knowing Portuguese, you get the feeling that Regina's got a lock on each bittersweet, heartbreaking passage.

The next version is an upbeat, playful rendition by Regina plus Tom Jobimhimself. What can you say? This is just such an amazing audiovisual artifact. From the brilliant performance to the cool 1970's era production values, I was so impressed when I first found this video that I watched it several times a day for about a week straight. We hope you enjoy it too!

Magnets

Doesn't your fridge deserve better than those free magnets from the local pizza delivery? The next time your guests wander into your kitchen, wouldn't you feel better having them gaze upon a lovely image of Guadalupe or a tough bunch of luchadores? I know I would. At a very affordable $4 each, our magnets are stylish and hold stuff up really well.

All Weird, All Wonderful and All 3D

Be the first on your block to keep your change in our cute n' wacky "Alpine Rascals" coin purse or jot your to do list in the strange and slightly disturbing "Girl with Parakeets" notebook. How I love these new 3D products. From the minute I saw them, I knew I had to share them with others. Weird and wonderful, some with images that look like they came from a German version of a Rankin/Bass kids' TV special, these bags and notebooks will stand out in a crowd.

Movin' to Blogger

After some frustration with our current blogging software, we've decided to take our show on the road and give Blogger a spin. Our only regret is losing the super nice comment made by one of our favorite customers, Jessica. Ok, I'll share it with you:

"Hey…I just wanted to let you know that I LOVE LOVE LOVE your website. I asked for a buttload of stuff from your shop… I got the Ganesh poster, one of the Corona serving trays, and the Virgin Mary air freshener (which is really cute, but smells really not-so-cute)…

I’ve told lots of people about your site and the kinds of fun stuff you offer. Not to mention, everything is so reasonably priced!"

(No, I didn't ask her to say that. But I'm so glad that she did!)

Check back often for the latest shop news, entertaining tidbits and whatever else strikes our fancy.
